Haleigh Rosa, who is a disabled woman and a Model, plus the founder of an NGO, reacted to Owens’ statement on the disabled SKIMS model in the wheelchair. Rosa said,

“The people I know that have disabilities are some of the most resilient people. Wheelchair users will not agree with [Owens’] views. If [Owens] truly wants to educate herself, she can reach out to me. I’m not one for cancel culture; I believe in the power of education. I’d love to have a conversation and educate Candace. It’s so often assumed that the disability community should be felt bad for. The people I know that have disabilities are some of the most resilient people.”

She further explained that people in wheelchairs will not agree with what Owens has said. Rosa also said representation matters so much through such campaigns for disabled people.
