Not every TV character has the ideal family and parents. In fact, they are occasionally assigned the poorest of the lot, which typically results in the most hilarious presentations.

Parenting is not for the faint of heart. Some of the most renowned series and programs’ characters have some of the worst parents. If they aren’t inattentive, they are far too domineering and dominating. These parents appear to prioritize their own wants and interests over those of their children, which, in the majority of situations, does not bode well in the long run.

Dan Scott From One Tree Hill

On One Tree Hill, the deluded and nasty father of the year is Nathan Scott’s father and Lucas Scott’s sperm donor. Despite the fact that Dan is Lucas’ father, he refuses to acknowledge the basketball star and makes it his mission to push the two brothers against one other.


As if that wasn’t terrible enough, Dan goes on to murder in cold blood Lucas’ lone father figure, Keith, who also happens to be his own brother. He refuses to be Lucas’ father and uses every opportunity to tell him what he thinks of him.

Hiram & Hermoine Lodge From Riverdale

Hiram and Hermoine Lodge, Riverdale’s Bonnie and Clyde, are the parents of the brilliant Veronica Lodge. They are frigid and precise in their parenting, never expressing I love you or recognizing Veronica’s accomplishments. These two are well-known in town for their manipulations and shady deals, which frequently puts them against not only each other but also Veronica.

They are both too preoccupied with their desires for power and schemes to take over Riverdale, and Veronica is continuously pushed to the bottom of their priority list. Hiram and Hermoine aren’t the worst parents in the world, but they are the most important people in Riverdale.

Gemma Teller From Sons Of Anarchy

A mother should always want the best for her kid, but Gemma Teller from Sons of Anarchy isn’t your average mother. With her status as Clay Morrow’s old lady in SAMCRO, she prioritizes the club over all else, including her son Jax Teller. Although she appears to love Jax more than anything else, her love is incredibly controlling and smothering, with her attempting to oversee every aspect of his life and relationships.

Her devotion to the club is so strong that she murders Jax’s wife Tara because she suspects her of being a rat. She subsequently lies to Jax for months about Tara’s death, but she eventually dies at the hands of her son.

Norma Bates From Bates Motel

If there was a person who could be used to describe denial and enabler, Norma Bates of the Bates Motel would be a frontrunner. Norma is a rather caring mother, yet this proves to be her undoing.

She is aware that her son Norman Bates is losing his grasp on reality on a daily basis, but her incessant enabling and coddling only serves to exacerbate Norman’s dual identities. Norma’s reluctance to let go of her coddling and parenting Norman is the cause of so many deaths, placing her among the worst.
