One of the greatest superheroes in Marvel’s mighty cosmos, Daredevil has pushed all the challenges that the scoundrel known as Kingpin was willing to put him through. He has proven time and time again that it doesn’t matter what Kingpin throws at him — he always gets back up because he knows that more is yet to come from his ongoing plight with one of his deadliest foes!

The use of the narrative device in question has been a major crux of both the acclaimed Netflix Daredevil TV series and Marvel comic books alike. On top of the lengthy list of physical hardships Matt Murdock has had to endure throughout this show’s three-season run, emotional and psychological stress were dealt out upon him to levels arguably much worse. With that being said, these are some of the worst things to happen in Netflix’s Daredevil

Being Orphaned At An Early Age

Unlike most superheroes, who gain their abilities through supernatural or scientific means, Daredevil’s abilities come from a rigorous and intense training program with many ups and downs. One of his greatest tragedies occurred when he was just a young boy in school after being struck in the eyes with radioactive materials that blinded him. However, because of his abilities, he didn’t exactly have a normal childhood. Matt Murdock was blind from a young age, which meant he had to develop his other senses immensely. From there, it didn’t take long for him to discover that he can focus these extra heightened senses in the way of being able to “see”- for lack of better terminology – things that no one else can see.

Nearly Being Killed Twice In The Same Night

Though Daredevil and Kingpin weren’t aware of their future rivalry at this early juncture in the hero’s career, their first face-to-face meeting was one the Man Without Fear wouldn’t have forgone if only he had known what it would come to mean. Matt Murdock grew into the mantle of the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen well later on in his life, but trying to find Fisk as an adolescent vigilante was quite another matter altogether at that time. Once the proto-Daredevil thought he had Wilson Fisk’s location pinned down, he was only met by The Hand’s leader Nobu; not a battle one truly bargains for before undertaking their very first assignment.

Being Crushed With Elektra

Elektra appears during a fight with Matt, who refuses to kill Bullseye in an attempt to stop the war between Wilson Fisk and the Hand. It makes sense for her to appear considering that she died when Nobu killed her after finishing his last duel with Daredevil in season 2 of the Netflix TV show. But things changed here – The Defenders gave Elektra yet another life since Matt’s attempts to save her from being a puppet for the Hand worked out! The only catch is the price of her salvation which we won’t reveal so as not to spoil Defenders for anyone who hasn’t seen it or wants to watch it at some point. But it was indeed one of the worst thing to happen in this franchise.

Daredevil Being Framed For The Murder

The show was brilliant at presenting its superhero crime-noir atmosphere, and a large part of it being done so well in season 3 was how it paid homage to one of the darkest Daredevil stories in comics. Writer/artist Frank Miller’s Born Again was used as inspiration for many story elements throughout season 3, but the crux for this dark tone falls on how Kingpin targeted Matt Murdock’s reputation by framing him for the murder.
