The Greek-born American actor John Aniston passed away at the age of 89 on November 11. The soap opera legend started his acting journey in the late 1950s and went on to become one of the most renowned soap opera stars in the world. He was best known for portraying the role of Victor Kiriakis on the NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives for more than three decades.

The death of the veteran star was announced by his daughter, Jennifer Aniston, who is widely known for her role as Rachel Green in the American sitcom series, FRIENDS.

The 53-year-old actress, Jennifer Aniston announced her father and soap opera star legend, John Aniston’s passing on Instagram on Monday. As per the former, the latter departed this life on November 11.

The star wrote alongside an old photograph of herself with her father, “Sweet papa…⁣ John Anthony Aniston” 

She continued,

You were one of the most beautiful humans I ever knew. I am so grateful that you went soaring into the heavens in peace – and without pain. And on 11/11 no less! You always had perfect timing. That number will forever hold an even greater meaning for me now I’ll love you till the end of time.”

She concluded the post, “Don’t forget to visit” which seemed to have been added later on after uploading the tribute post.

The late actor started acting in plays when he was in high school and did two seasons of stock at the Allenberry Playhouse during his time at Penn State University. He also served in the U.S. Navy as an intelligence officer based in Panama after getting his bachelor’s degree in arts and letters.

He moved to New York and started his acting journey in 1959 by getting a guest spot on the CBS cop show Brenner. His famous series, Days of Our Lives bagged him a Daytime Emmy nomination in 2017.

He also received a Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award in June this year. Though he was not able to receive it personally, his daughter made a virtual appearance to show gratitude on his behalf.

She paid a tribute to her father by stating, “It’s an opportunity to not only pay tribute to a true icon in the daytime television world, but it’s also a chance to recognize the lifelong achievements of a great and well-respected actor, who also happens to be my dad.”

Hollywood has indeed lost a great legend however he has received much love and support from his fans all across the world who will remember him for his contribution to the industry.
