The Young and the Restless is a famous daytime soap opera that has given a jumpstart to several actors working on the show including Eva Longoria however she is not much pleased associated with the show. Even in her recent interview, she clarified the same stating how she would “hide” about working in the TV show back in her earlier days.

Since she shared her opinions about the longest-running soap, Titanic star, Eric Braeden who also portrayed the character of Victor Newman on the show since 1980 called out the actress for her insensitive remarks.

The 81-year-old actor, Eric Braeden who is considered one of the television legends in the entertainment industry slammed the actress for her insensitive remarks about the tv opera show, The Young and the Restless. The Emmy Award-winning personality shared his thoughts on Twitter by directly addressing Eva Longoria.

Calling out for her “derogatory” comments about daytime actors, he stated,

“You simply weren’t good enough to survive the pressures of this medium! You were very lucky to get on that ‘housewife’ show! You did one show in 8-12 days, with mediocre but salacious dialogue! Our actresses.”

He continued to write in another tweet,

“Would run rings around you!! And they did then!! From Robert di Nero to whoever they all are, many of them started in the medium you denigrate! It shows a complete lack of class!!”

Even though many came to defend the actress by sharing their narrative about the 48-year-old actress, he continued to stay firm in his statements by replying to one tweet, he would go after anyone if they would denigrate the soap medium. This happened shortly after the actress gave her remarks while appearing on Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace.

The Desperate Housewives star in her Sunday interview shared her thoughts about playing Isabella Braña in the soap opera from 2001 to 2003. Even though she was there for a short while, she did not want to look back at that time as she shared,

“When I got Young and the Restless, it didn’t pay enough for me to live off being an actor. So I continued being a headhunter and Young and the Restless.”

She recalled,

“I would hide the fact I was on Young and the Restless to my clients, because they didn’t want, like, a dumb actress handing their accounts.”

She also shared an incident where she was almost recognized by a client as they shared, “You look like a girl I’ve seen on a soap opera.” She immediately denied having anything to do with it as she told she was the “opposite of a publicist’s dream.” She further added reminding them not to tell anyone about her soap opera time as she was earning well from her day job.

The Young and the Restless airs at 12:30 p.m. ET on CBS on weekdays.
