Zack Snyder Reveals the Cast for Netflix’s Army of the Dead Prequel

Netflix and Zack Snyder are a match made in heaven. Justice League isn’t the only movie that the visionary director is bringing us next year. Back in 2004, Snyder and James Gunn cooked a sweet little Zombie baby together and we called it, Dawn of the Dead. And now, Snyder is bringing in Army of the Dead, which is set to arrive in Summer 2021. But, even before this film arrives, Netflix has already green lit an Army of the Dead prequel film, and an anime called Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas.

Apparently, Netflix loved what Snyder shot for his upcoming Zombie heist film that is set in Las Vegas. That’s why, they decided to come up with a whole shared universe around the film. In fact, they’ve already shot Army of the Dead: The Prequel. It will feature Matthias Schweighöfer’s character, Ludwig Dieter from Snyder’s film. And, Schweighöfer is the one who has written and directed the film while Snyder is attached as a producer. Upon announcing the wrap on its production, Snyder revealed the cast of the prequel. Take a look at the actors that are supposed to appear in the film:

Besides Schweighöfer, the prequel is going to feature Nathalie Emmanuel, Stuart Martin, Guz Khan and Ruby O’Fee. This particular entry will be multi-lingual as it has been shot in Germany. You’ve also got to be excited about the anime as it will reveal the origins of Dave Bautista’s character from Army of the Dead. It’s obvious that Bautista will reprise his role in the anime. Ana de la Reguera, Tig Notaro, Omari Hardwick and Ella Purnell will also return in the series. Jay Oliva will act as the showrunner, and he’d also direct two episodes of the show. Meanwhile, Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder and Wesley Coller will executive-produce the series.

This whole franchise is going to be extremely gory and epic. Hopefully, we will also get a sequel to Army of the Dead in the future. Snyder’s upcoming film stars Dave Bautisata, Ana de la Reguera, Tig Notaro, Garret Dillahunt, Raul Castillo, Omari Hardwick, Hiroyuki Sanada, Nora Arnezeder, Theo Rossi, Ella Purnell, and Huma Quereshi.
